2026 Milestones

FAIR Trust Systems

Target: April 26, 2026

This milestone focuses on building the trust infrastructure that underpins the FAIR network. Key deliverables include:

Trust infrastructure and FAIR Forge tools
Re-bundling WordPress.org plugins for FAIR distribution
Privacy policy for analytics data
FAIR Beacon refinements
FAIR Connect versions 1.3 and 1.4
Faceted search capabilities

Expanding Federation

Target: August 16, 2026

This milestone expands the federated network and improves the experience for publishers and users. Key deliverables include:

Expanded federated packages across the network
Migration pathway for existing repositories
Commercial publisher support
Trust Labeller extension
Analytics dashboards

Increased Resilience & Efficiency

Target: December 6, 2026

This milestone strengthens the infrastructure and scales the network. Key deliverables include:

Infrastructure enhancements for reliability and performance
Contributor recruitment initiatives
Forge trust signals
Security evaluations
Scaling to top 5-10,000 packages
