Our Mission

FAIR's primary goal is to improve security in the software supply chain while establishing a decentralized distribution model where no single entity controls the supply chain.

The project emerged from work beginning fall 2024, was conceptualized early 2025, and launched publicly June 5, 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. It operates as a Linux Foundation project.
